Hay on Wye Interclub Competition
This year's Hay on Wye interclub competition is open for entries via the usual club competition entry form as an option when you select a competition. This year there is an 'abstract' theme.
Call for digital images from club members for this annual friendly interclub challenge and a chance to regain the trophy won by Hay last year! First started by David Brinn, past president of the Hay on Wye Camera Club (Wales UK) and also past president of our club, 20 digital imaages from different club members are required. A final 20 of the best images will be selected by a panel of our club members. This year Hay is organising the challenge and have decided on the theme - "Abstract". Their judge has provided a link to examples for inspiration and to stir your imagination, but requests that you use your own interpretation of the theme. Follow the link https://goo.gl/images/NGp25z
A maximum of 2 images per person to be sent via the usual competition site on our website. Max 1620x1080 and title your image HOW followed by the title, eg HOW-stars and stripes. Images accepted now, final date for submission 12 May.

2019 Competition Calendar
2019 set subject topics are now available on the website.
The club is looking at reviving Photo News in a blog format on the club website. If you have an interesting story that might be of interest to other club members, or are prepared to provide a member profile about yourself and your photographic interests, let Robyn Carter or Chris Cookson know.
There's a new page under competitions tab with a list of external competitions, both PSNZ affiliated and others that may be of interest to members. These are often mentioned in email newsletters, but it's easy to forget what's in emails, so they're getting their own page on the website so that you can easily check what's coming up.
Competition Entries and Rules
The web based competition submission form is working well and can be found on the web site under competitions -> Image Submission.
The submission system makes sure that individual images are submitted correctly, but it does not check how many images you have submitted. Several members are failing to follow the published rules on the web site and submitting more images than are allowed in a category. Unfortunately these additional images cannot be awarded points, as this would be unfair to members who stick to the rules.
